
Ingredients

1 lb ground beef
1 egg, beaten
1 slice white bread
3 cloves garlic, minced
1/4 cup finely chopped mint
1 tsp ground cumin
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp salt
12 large skewers
Method
- Soak skewers in water.
- Oil grill and heat to medium.
- Tear bread into small pieces and add to beaten egg. Mash bread until most of the egg is absorbed. Mix in beef, garlic, mint, cumin, cinnamon and salt.
- Divide meat mixture into 6 portions. Form each into a log about 4 inches long and flatten gently. Insert 2 skewers into the patty. Repeat with remaining meat and skewers.
- Place skewed patties on grill. Cover and cook for 4 minutes. Turn and cook until the meat is done, about 4 to 5 more minutes.
- Serve with salad, grilled red onion and pitas.
Makes 6 servings.
