More Antioxidants Found in Dark Chocolate than in Acai Berry

Dark chocolate and cocoa powder contain higher amounts of polyphenols and flavanols than fruit juice, according to a new study published in the Chemistry Central Journal.

Researchers found the Anti oxidants content of dark chocolate and cocoa powder is found to be higher than in acai berry, blueberry, cranberry and promegranate.

Lead Scientist said that cacao seeds should be considered as ‘super fruit’ and products derived from cacao seed extracts such as natural cocoa powder and dark chocolate, as ‘super foods’.
