Protein Drinks After Exercise Help Maintain Muscles

A new research report appearing online in the American Societies for Experimental Biology Journal shows that what someone drinks after exercise plays a critical role in maximizing the effects of exercise. Specifically, the report shows that protein drinks after aerobic activity increases the training effect after six weeks, when compared to carbohydrate drinks. Additionally, this study suggests that this effect can be seen using as little as 20 grams of protein.

Studies such as this help to explain how exercise and nutrition work so that people can better take advantage of those pathways to slow the aging process.”

A Hong Kong Fish Dish Recipe from My Clippings

Ingredients

1 lb carp fish meat
2 slices bacon
1 stalk celery
Breadcrumb for coating

Seasoning

1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp soy sauce
Pinch of pepper
1/2 tsp cornstarch

Method

  1. Grind the fish in a food processor to make fish paste.
  2. Chop bacon.
  3. Cut celery into small dices.
  4. Mix fish paste, bacon, celery and seasoning ingredients. Shape fish paste into balls. Coat with breadcrumbs.
  5. Deep-fry fish balls in hot oil until golden yellow. Serve with sweet and sour sauce.
